On November 23, the 2019 China New Media Communication Association Annual Conference was inaugurated at the Science and Art Center of XMU. The meeting was hosted by China New Media Communication Association and organized by the School of Journalism and Communication (SOJC), Xiamen University. As one of the most influential new media studies conference, it aims at providing scholars with an opportunity to share their latest academic achievements and develop friendships in the field of new media studies. The 2019 conference was themed "New Age, New Media, and New Silk Road", and over 100 experts, scholars and industry elites attended the activity to discuss topics concerning the Internet, big data, and the theory and reality of new media's development. Prof. Du Junfei from Nanjing University, Prof. Luo Jiade from Tsinghua University and Prof. Paul van den Hoven, Chair Professor of SOJC were invited to deliver keynote speeches at the meeting.
