As an event of the 28th China Golden Rooster & Hundred Flowers Film Festival, the China Film Education & Industry Forum was held at the Science and Art Center of XMU on November 20, 2019. This forum was co-hosted by XMU and China Film Association with an attendance of over 700. At the opening ceremony, President Zhang Rong delivered the opening address in which Zhang expressed that XMU would actively cultivate film talents to contribute to the development of the national film industry and the enhancement of national cultural soft power. Guests attending the meeting aired their opinions around four major issues "the history and new trends of the development of Chinese and foreign film industry", "film industry' current needs for talent cultivation", "cultivation of film talents: education and practice" and "connection between talent cultivation and film industry development".
