In an increasingly computerized world, challenges of sustainable urban development have been among topics of discussion over the years. In collaboration with International Experts for Research Enrichment and Knowledge Exchange (IEREK), Xiamen University Malaysia organized the 2nd international conference on "Future Smart Cities" from November 5 to 7, 2019 to tackle one of the biggest trends today that has been rapidly gaining momentum. The conference brought together academic and industry experts, developers, company executives and stakeholders, scientists and engineers, to bridge the gap between research and industry and address key-issues hindering efficient & sustainable living and development. The main goal of the conference is to facilitate an exchange of ideas and knowledge between experts and policymakers in the hope of making a change. The conference calls upon researchers, academics, and students from around the world, with their innovative ideas and thoughts to maximize the benefits of the conference and develop a successful proposal on future smart cities.
